Welcome to the World of Wychwood

Wychwood Brewery is based in Witney, Oxfordshire, at the Old Eagle Maltings, built more than 150 years ago. Wychwood Brewery hand brews around 50,000 barrels of high quality, traditional ale each year, including a range of seasonal cask and bottled ales. We are the UK’s No 1 brewer of Organic Ales.

We are also home to Brakspear Beers, following the closure of Brakspear Brewery in Henley in 2002. Utilising much of the original Henley equipment, we have reproduced Brakspear's famous double drop fermentation in our dedicated Brakspear fermenting room at Witney.

Brewery history

Established in 1990 in its present location, our brewery is named after the ancient medieval forest of The Wych Wood which borders the town - you can watch a short movie about our history here or read more about our brewery history here. Many of Wychwood's beer labels take their inspiration and imagery from characters in myths and legends associated with the ancient wood.
